RayDex hr

The maximum precision and robust RayDex hr (“heavy duty”) sensor head has two high-precision air-bearing axes with the following functions:
a) autofocus
b) rotation.
In particular, almost rotationally symmetrical interior spaces can be subjected to fast, straightforward, and extremely precise two-dimensional measurement with the RayDex hr sensor.
Complete three-dimensionality and a further parameter such as conicity can be attained by means of external axial actuation.
Measured parameters are, for instance, diameter, roundness, ovality, conicity, and roughness. The autofocus has a maximum working range of 7 mm and – depending upon the probe – permits measurement of diameters ranging from below 1 mm typically up to 35 mm. Special probes extend this diameter range to 100 mm. Axial penetration depths approaching 150 mm (e.g. in a cylinder) can be attained with this sensor head.

The particular advantages of the sensor lie in its extreme precision and the fact that especially long probes (up to 130 mm) can be used without loss of accuracy. Change of probe is made very simple and highly reproducible by a standardized and patented mechanical flange.
